Deer activity is almost none right now according to my uncle tim, he has hunted his hot spot for almost a week straight without seeing a single deer. Also while coyote calling, trapping, and coon hunting we have yet to see a coyote, our traps havent been touched and have yet to see a coon tree'd since last week. Maybe things will pick up towards the end of this week!

I have been doing a lot of coyote calling and coon hunting as well. No luck calling the yote's but I have not had any trouble treeing coons. The moon phase will be changing soon as well so maybe things will turn around in the deer woods and for us coon hunters

I fanally saw alot of activity yesterday evening. Me woody and kyle went to check out the cabin to see what we need for the 13th. On our way out we saw i think 5 doe's but on the way back home we had an atleast 140 inch if not more buck cross the road with 5 doe's and was dogging them pretty hard. Our traps were empty except one, we had a possum. I think im going to make a couple dumps tom night,.....maybe my luck will change!!!

The deer were definitely moving last night, I had lost count how many we seen. we were at the cabin and there were 3 deer about 200-300 yards down the hill from us! there will be plenty of places to hunt for everyone..going to be a good time

My mom's from old English. I hunt what's left of the family farm out on Brownstown Rd near the Orange County line. Only 46 acres but I've been practicing qdm there for 10 years now and fortunately some of the neighbors are too.

I too have been doing a little QDM in the sense of suppling habitat for fawning and planted fields for forage. This year I'm hoping to expand the amount of ground for forage. As for selective harvest, it's hard to convince the neightbor not to shoot everything that passes by him. He's one of those guys that likes to remove only the backstraps and the hell with the rest. Don't care much for that.

The neighbors can be the hardest obstacle. Luckily in my case we were both being selective without knowing the other was doing it until later.
I'm with you on the backstrap issue. I can't stand to see anything wasted.
