Hey guys, With this cold weather moving in and snow now on the ground normally my first thought would be to get in the deer woods, but having already got my buck this year I just cant make myself go out and sit in the cold for a doe. So, I am looking forward to doing some ice fishing this year if the ice happens to get thick enough. Do any of you guys know the desired thickness needed to get out on the ice.? When I have ice fished in the past their has been no question as to whether or not the ice was thick enough. Whats the ice thickness on the small scale ponds at this time?

I like at least 4 inches, but that all depends on the color of the ice
